About Babylon

SFBabylon.com will tell the story of the building known as Babylon that sat for 40 years in the mudflats off San Carlos Airport. Its history is full of audacity, optimism, folly. It's a largely forgotten echo of the closing of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition where the building originated.

Producer Brian Cooley is a descendant of the Cooleys that owned Babylon during what were perhaps its most productive years, from 1936 to 1956. A technology journalist by trade, he sees Babylon through the lens of the Silicon Valley spirit that grew up around it.
